  1. Mars has facinated man through the ages
  2. the Romans named it after thier god of
  3. war. The Italian astronermer Giovanni 
  4. Schiaparelli reported seeing canals on its
  5. surface which made him believe there was 
  6. intelligent life, but the two American marina
  7. probes found no proof of this. Mars has
  8. icecaps where most of the water is believed to
  9. be. Mars could well support life and an
  10. atmosphere but because of it small size and
  11. week gravitational pull it is supposed it
  12. gradually seeped into space. PHOBOS and
  13. DEIMOS are the two moons of Mars and because
  14. of their small size and irreguality it is
  15. thought that they are captured moons.
